Michal Neuvirth to Start in Net for Flyers in Game 4

With the Flyers trailing the Capitals 3-0 in their best-of-seven series, changes were likely coming.

It appears the first will be in net.

Goalie Michal Neuvirth was told by head coach Dave Hakstol that he will get the starting nod in Game 4 in place of Steve Mason.

In the first three games of the series, Mason has a 4.09 goals against average and a .852 save percentage. He hasn't received much goal support with the Flyers recording only two goals in the first three games.

Neuvirth was brought in by Ron Hextall to solidify the backup goaltender position. He has done that and then some, accumulating a 18-8-4 record with 2.27 goal against and a .924 save percentage in 32 games (29 starts).

Neuvirth started his career in Washington and spent parts of six seasons with the Capitals. For his career in the playoffs, Neuvirth is 4-5-1 with 2.30 goals against with a .914 save percentage.
