Nick Foles Caught the Pass Tom Brady Didn't, Eagles OL Lane Johnson Says

The Philly Special … again!

Not so fast.

For Eagles fans, this clarification might be even better.

During Thursday night's 2018 season opener, when Nick Foles reeled in a pass almost identical to the iconic play from the 41-33 Super Bowl LII victory, just about everyone dubbed it Philly Special 2.0 (see story).

But Lane Johnson made sure to specify it was different.

That would be Tom Brady, the quarterback of the Patriots. If you recall, he dropped a pass in Super Bowl LII.

Foles did not. And he did not Thursday night, either.

Johnson was spot-on.

Doug Pederson, the amazingly crazed play-caller behind this madness, divulged the play's name postgame following the 18-12 win over the Falcons (see 10 observations).

So, the Eagles are 1-0 in 2018 and Foles is 2 for 2 on his catching attempts.

Someone send Brady the film.
