Eagles Injury Update: Alshon Jeffery Not at Practice; Jay Ajayi Returns

After being a full participant for the first time at practice this season on Wednesday, Alshon Jeffery was not at practice on Thursday.

The official injury report will come out later this afternoon, but it doesn't seem like a good sign for Jeffery, who was hoping to make his 2018 debut on Sunday in Tennessee.

Jeffery is recovering from surgery to repair a rotator cuff tear he suffered before last season. He has been cleared for contact, but on Wednesday, head coach Doug Pederson was hesitant to say that Jeffery would definitely play. Pederson said he wanted to see how Jeffery progressed through the week and how he'd take some hits on that shoulder.

While Jeffery spoke to reporters on Wednesday, he didn't offer much, but he did say there was a long time before the game on Sunday.

Not having Jeffery at practice was obviously bad news, but the good news is that Jay Ajayi (back) returned to practice for the first time since he was injured in the Bucs game. He missed the Colts game on Sunday.

Ajayi was back, but Darren Sproles (hamstring) was not. Sproles has missed the past two games and seems in serious danger of missing a third in Tennessee on Sunday. Sproles stretched with the team on Wednesday but didn't practice. He wasn't even on the field at all on Thursday during the portion of practice open to reporters.

Michael Bennett (illness) returned to practice Thursday after missing Wednesday's practice.

Rodney McLeod, who had surgery to repair his MCL and is done for the season, was also obviously not at practice.
