Super Bowl Rematch in Eagles Preseason

The Eagles released their preseason schedule, including a Super Bowl LII rematch with the New England Patriots.

The Eagles are inching closer to defending their Super Bowl championship.

In 2018, the Birds will kick off their preseason at home against the Steelers, go on the road for two against the Patriots and Browns and return to face the Jets in the preseason finale.

    Here's the full preseason schedule:

    Week 1: vs. Steelers
    Week 2: at Patriots
    Week 3: at Browns
    Week 4: vs. Jets

Dates and times for three quarters of these games have not yet been announced. The Eagles-Browns game will be on Thursday, Aug. 23, at 8 p.m. on FOX.

The Eagles will get a rematch of Super Bowl LII in Week 2 of the preseason, when they'll travel up to Foxboro to face Tom Brady and the Patriots. The Eagles beat the Patriots, 41-33, on Feb. 4 in Minnesota.

Before the Super Bowl rematch, the Eagles will kick off the preseason at the Linc against the cross-state Steelers.

After the Super Bowl rematch, the Eagles will have their all-important third preseason game in Cleveland against the Browns. The third preseason game is typically the one in which starters play the deepest into the game.

As always, the Eagles finish off their preseason schedule against the Jets. After traveling to MetLife Stadium to face New York last year, the Eagles will host the Jets to wrap up this year's preseason.

While the Eagles will kick off their preseason in August, don't expect Carson Wentz to be ready to play during the exhibition games. Wentz's target to return from a torn ACL and LCL remains Week 1 of the regular season. Last month, Doug Pederson said he was "very encouraged" by Wentz's recovery but they don't want to push him. He also said Wentz won't need preseason work.

If the NFL's timeline follows last year, the regular season schedule should be released during next week. We already know the Eagles' regular-season opponents. It's been reported they'll host the Vikings in the opener and we already know they'll play the Jaguars in London in late October.

Home: Cowboys, Giants, Redskins, Panthers, Falcons, Texans, Colts, Vikings

Away: Cowboys, Giants, Redskins, Saints, Buccaneers, Titans, Rams, Jaguars (London)
