Hey Flyers Fans–Register Now for Winter Classic Tickets

Flyers fans might need to get lucky to see the Fly Guys skate against the Bruins in the annual NHL Winter Classic at Fenway Park in Boston on New Year’s Day.

Tickets will be given out by lottery with first priority given to Flyers and Bruins season-tickets holders, reported CSNPhilly’s Tim Panaccio.

The lottery opened on Monday at the Winter Classic page on NHL.com -- well sorta.

The site claimed that the actual lottery wasn’t starting until September 15 but that fans could sign up now to get into the lottery and also to receive emails from the NHL about the Classic. (There always seems to be a catch with these things.)

Lottery winners will find out in mid October if they won tickets.

Once fans secure a ticket the trick will be coming up with the $50 - $350 price tag for each seat. At least it’s till cheaper than most Red Sox tickets.

The outdoor hockey game has gained steam as a New Year’s Day tradition since its inception in 2008. Last year it was played at Chicago’s Wrigley Field.
