Buono's 1st Ad Hits the Airwaves

State Sen. Barbara Buono and Gov. Chris Christie are both on the air with new campaign commercials in their race for governor.

Buono's 30-second commercial launched Wednesday and is her first being sent over the airwaves.

The Democrat has also produced videos that have been available only online.

In the state senator's last online advertisement "Names" -- Buono explains how to pronounce her last name.

Showing a photo of U2 frontman Bono, Buono says: "This is Bono, I'm Buono (BWOH'-noh)."

In the new ad, Buono talks about her biography while taking swipes at Christie's record.

Christie's commercial blames Buono for tax increases and a spike in unemployment in the state. It also links her with former Gov. Jon Corzine, whom Christie unseated four years ago.

Both candidates are expected to receive the nominations of their parties in primaries June 4.
