Worker Rescued After Being Stuck on Ship

The injured man was rescued from the cargo hold of the ship

An injured worker, who was trapped aboard a ship at the Port of Wilmington, is being treated at the hospital tonight.

The Wilmington Fire Department says the 23-year-old man was trapped 70 feet down in the cargo hold of the ship that was being unloaded at the port.

Skyforce10 flew over the port, located at Hausel Road, as rescue workers attempted to free the man.

The man was trapped by a coil of wire that weighed 2,000 pounds and was sitting on his chest.

The man was lifted by a basket that was raised by the ship's crane. He was then airlifted to Christiana Hospital.

He's listed in stable, but serious condition.
