Toddler Hurt After Crawling Into Stove

A western Pennsylvania toddler got a ride home in a fire truck parade three days after he nearly died when a stove he was playing on fell onto him.

Marc Jackson Jr.'s father is a Sipesville firefighter, and several surrounding companies in Somerset County arranged a parade of six fire trucks to deliver the boy to his home in Jenner Township on Thursday.

Marc Jackson Sr. was away at firefighter training when the 2 1/2-year-old boy opened the oven door and climbed onto or into the disconnected stove, which fell over onto him, causing the boy's breathing and heart to stop Monday afternoon.

The boy's mother is a nurse who immediately performed CPR and called 911.

The stove was being stored on the family's enclosed porch while their home about 50 miles southeast of Pittsburgh was being remodeled.
