Man Dies After Jumping in Front of SEPTA Train

SEPTA suspended service along its Manayunk/Norristown Regional Rail Line after a train struck and killed a man in the East Falls section of Philadelphia.

SEPTA spokeswoman Heather Redfern said that they stopped trains on the line during Monday morning’s rush as police investigated the incident near New Queen Street.

Philadelphia Police said that an unidentified man jumped in front of a moving train. Body parts could be seen on the tracks.

Starting around 8:40 a.m., SEPTA resumed limited service along the line. It would take another two hours or so to get service back to regular.
