A school administrator is accused in a life-imitating-art incident.
An assistant vice principal at a central New Jersey elementary school resigned one day before state troopers accused him of selling drugs from his home.
Authorities charged 33-year-old John Norton of Bound Brook with possession and distribution of controlled dangerous substances.
Troopers say they recovered crystal methamphetamine and GHB from his home valued at about $15,000. They also say they found an unresponsive man who was suffering from a possible drug overdose.
The Courier News of Bridgewater reports Norton earned $98,000 a year as vice principal of Elizabeth Avenue School in Franklin Township -- located about 30 miles north of Trenton. The school superintendent issued a statement saying Norton notified the district he was resigning before the arrest took place on Monday.
It's not clear whether Norton has an attorney.
