Police Arrest Man in String of Robberies Targeting Asian-Owned Businesses in Philadelphia

Philadelphia police say one of two suspects in a string of robberies targeted Asian-owned businesses is in custody.

Police say 29-year-old Norman Bowen has been jailed on a probation violation, but will be charged Tuesday in connection with 11 robberies between May 3 and Aug. 1.

In several incidents, Bowen and another man allegedly targeted closed businesses that were attached to the owners' residences. The men allegedly stole cigarettes, jewelry, money and electronics while holding the victims at gunpoint.

Police say they're still searching for the second suspect, 33-year-old Anthony Campbell. He's described as a thin black man with a bald or shaved head and short beard, with two "bold text" tattoos on his arm.

Bowen doesn't have an attorney listed in online court records.
