Coroner IDs Shooter Killed by Police in Pennsylvania Shootout

Authorities have released the name of a man shot and killed by a central Pennsylvania police officer after authorities said he shot another officer.

LNP newspapers reports that Lancaster County Coroner Dr. Stephen Diamantoni identified the suspect as 29-year-old Anthony Quinn Gomez Jr.

Diamantoni said Gomez died from multiple gunshot wounds to the chest that were "rapidly fatal."

Police said officers had gone to the Lancaster home shortly before 1 p.m. Tuesday to try to serve a warrant, but the suspect refused to comply with orders to surrender.

District Attorney Craig Stedman said the first officer used a stun gun but was then shot twice by the suspect, and another officer then "responded appropriately" by shooting the suspect.

The injured officer was said to be doing well Wednesday.
