Inmate Who Escaped With Help of Sister Caught Riding With Brothers: Police

Police arrested an inmate who escaped from a western Pennsylvania jail over the weekend with the help of his sister.

Authorities said a state police helicopter spotted 27-year-old Waylon Hodge Hanlan Tuesday afternoon riding in a Honda Civic in Dunkard with his two brothers. Hanlan was taken into custody following a brief foot chase. One of the brothers was also arrested, but the other is still at large.

He was arraigned on escape charges and returned to the Greene County Prison. Authorities said Hanlan fled form the Waynesburg facility just before 8 p.m. Sunday. He was behind bars since Dec. 11 on a probation violation.

Troopers said Harlan climbed a fence and ran into the woods where his sister waited in a car. She faces hindering apprehension charges.
