Accused Killer Faces Trial in 2014 Fairmount Park Peace Concert Shooting

A man is on trial in a shooting death outside a Philadelphia concert being held to promote peace and stem violence in the city almost three years ago.

Twenty-four-year-old William Greene is charged with murder, conspiracy and robbery in the August 2014 shooting death of 20-year-old Alexis Guevara outside the Dell Music Center in the city's Fairmount Park.

The Philadelphia Inquirer reports that a friend of the victim testified Tuesday that Guevara was arguing with another man when Greene walked up, tried to rob him and then shot him.

Defense attorney Gary Silver challenged some witness identifications of the crime scene in police photographs.

The paper said Greene on Monday rejected a prosecution offer of a 30- to 60-year sentence in exchange for a third-degree murder plea.
