Pa. CEO Struck, Killed While Exercising

Police say the chief executive of a Reading-area battery manufacturer with thousands of employees is dead after being struck by a vehicle while walking for exercise.

State police told the Reading Eagle that 52-year-old Sally Miksiewicz died Friday morning.

She'd headed up East Penn Manufacturing Co. Inc., a company founded by her father and grandfather nearly 70 years ago, since 2009.

The company has about 6,700 workers.

A deputy coroner tells the paper the road is very narrow in the area where Miksiewicz was killed.
