No Beer Sales at Delaware County Wawa… Yet

Shoppers hoping to pick up a 6-pack of beer at a Delaware County Wawa will have to wait at least two more weeks to find out if officials approve of the addition to the convenience store's product line.

The Concord Township Board of Supervisors postponed the conditional use hearing, scheduled for Tuesday night, to Aug. 4, according to the Delaware County Daily Times:

"The convenience store would like to add six-packs to its product line, similar to the approval granted to Acme, Whole Foods and Wegmans. To meet the mandates of the state liquor code, Wawa would create a separate 400-square-foot space within the store for beer sales and consumption, including a cooler, seating for 30 and dedicated register."

If the decision had gone through for the Wawa, located at 721 Naamans Creek Road in Chadds Ford, it could lead to a ripple effect.
