WERNERSVILLE, Pa. - A state-run community corrections center that will house 360 men just out of prison is set to open next week in Berks County.
On Monday, the Department of Corrections plans to move the first 25 offenders to a building on the grounds of Wernersville State Hospital. By summer, 360 should be living in three renovated buildings in one of the largest of 13 such state facilities.
Some residents will have completed their prison time. Others will be nearly finished. Residents must get jobs and pay rent.
