More Charges Filed in Landscaping Equipment Theft

Two men accused of stealing and pawning thousands of dollars' worth of landscaping equipment are now facing more charges.

The Asbury Park Press reports that Howell Township police recently filed seven counts of burglary and theft against 26-year-old Eugene Reeves of Freehold and 25-year-old Zachariah Famula of Manalapan. The charges come just days after state police filed similar counts against the pair.

Investigators say the stolen equipment was taken from businesses and residents in central New Jersey and sold at a pawn shop in Pennsylvania.

State police were alerted to the thefts in late May, when the owner of landscaping business reported a burglary and theft of a backpack blower, multiple chainsaws and other equipment.

It was not known Saturday if either man has retained an attorney.
