Mom Gets 10 Years for Plot to ‘Burn Alive' Daughter's Ex

A Lehigh Valley woman has been sentenced to 10 years in prison after she admitted she tried to hire a hit man to murder her daughter's ex-boyfriend.

Denise Nagrodski of Easton will have to serve at least 8 ½ years of the sentence imposed Friday in state Superior Court in Warren County.

The 52-year-old pleaded guilty in June to attempted murder and murder conspiracy.

Nagrodski was arrested last November after she met with an undercover New Jersey state police detective posing as a hit man.

Nagrodski allegedly told the trooper her daughter's ex-boyfriend was abusive and had caused her daughter to have a miscarriage when she was expecting twins.

She also allegedly told the detective to "burn him alive" and also told him to murder the ex-boyfriend's sister and her boyfriend.
