Someone Pours Gas Onto Cars With Keys in Ignition: Police Source

Cellphone video shows cars on fire at a West Philadelphia used car lot in what local and federal investigators treated as a possible arson.

A police source told NBC10 that someone poured gasoline onto several vehicles and left the keys in the ignitions at the lot at 51st Street and Merion Avenue late Tuesday night. Those four cars were gutted while other vehicles were damaged.

Firefighters managed to get the blaze under control but not before four cars were gutted while other vehicles were damaged.

The owner of the lot didn’t immediately rush to the scene, said investigators. It wasn’t clear if the owner had spoken to police.

Police called in the ATF to help in the investigation and to determine if this was a case of arson.
