South Jersey Men Face Charges in Beating, Robbery of Elderly Man

Two men face charges after an elderly man was beaten and robbed in southern New Jersey.

Camden County prosecutors say the attack occurred around 5 p.m. Thursday, when 27-year-old Steven Rashad Miller, of Camden, allegedly punched the 83-year-old victim in the face near the Robin Hills Apartments in Voorhees.

When the victim fell to the ground, Miller allegedly went through his pockets and took the man's wallet.

Miller and another Camden man, 24-year-old Raheem Watts, then allegedly used the victim's credit card about 15 minutes later at the Ashland PATCO station in Voorhees to buy transit travel cards. Authorities say Watts was present when the robbery occurred, but apparently he did not take part in it.

The victim was being treated at a hospital for undisclosed injuries.
