A Pennsylvania coroner has ruled the death of a man who died a decade ago after a struggle with police, overturning an older determination that drugs might have played a role.
Chester County Coroner Gordon Eck said Thursday that 20-year-old Brett Katzenmoyer died by homicide, but stressed that he does not determine criminality.
Philly.com reports that Katzenmoyer died in 2007 five days after a struggle with police outside a concert in Camden, New Jersey.
A security guard at the hospital where he was taken testified that police repeatedly punched the hand-cuffed Katzenmoyer in the face to keep him quiet, but police say he had reached for an officer's gun.
