Two men are accused of torching a man sleeping at his friend’s South Jersey home.

The 27-year-old victim remains hospitalized with severe burns at a Philadelphia medical center more than two weeks after the March 16 attack inside a Cologne Avenue home in Mays Landing, Township of Hamilton police said.

The Brigantine man had fallen asleep in the home when Brandon Perez, a 23-year-old from Hammonton, and David Sult, a 24-year-old from Mays Landing, intentionally set him on fire, police said.

Perez remained jailed in Atlantic County facing second-degree aggravated assault, aggravated arson and conspiracy charges, following his March 25 arrest, police said. Sult was arrested and jailed on Monday and faces the same second-degree assault, arson and conspiracy charges.

It wasn't known Wednesday if either man has retained an attorney.

Investigators didn’t reveal what led to the arson.
