Man Found in NJ With Missing Rhode Island Teen

A man has been arrested in New Jersey after a 13-year-old girl from Rhode Island was reported missing, then found alive.

Authorities said Thursday that 27-year-old Daniel Berger has been charged with one count of transporting a minor with intent to engage in criminal sexual activity. He appeared in federal court in Newark and agreed to be held pending his removal to Rhode Island.

Police said Berger and the Portsmouth teen were found in his apartment in Haskell, N.J. at 1 a.m.

An Amber Alert was issued for the girl after she was reported missing by her mother Wednesday morning. Police say a witness saw someone matching the girl's description leave home with a man.

Police said the two had communicated with each other on the Internet, and that she appeared to have gone willingly.
