Man Charged in Delaware Liquor Store Shooting

A Dover man has been charged with attempted murder in a liquor store shooting.

Dover police said Monday that a 33-year-old man walked into the Driftwood Spirits Liquor Store on Sunday while the clerk was in the cooler.

When the man opened the cooler door, police say the clerk began shooting at him and continued firing as he ran away. When the man fell onto his back outside the store, police say the clerk stood over him and shot at him twice more.

The man suffered minor graze wounds and had no life-threatening injuries.

The clerk, 35-year-old Michael Brodie of Dover, was arrested without incident. It's unclear whether he has an attorney.

Police say Brodie and the man had previous run-ins. The man had been banned from the liquor store.
