Man Accused of Choking Teen to Death Due in Court

A man accused of choking a Pennsauken teen to death back in 2003 is due in court for sentencing on Friday afternoon.

Back on November 29, 2003, Warren Dixon of Camden met with 16-year-old Sherita Williams.

Police say Dixon, who is now 25, took her under the 36th Street Bridge in Pennsauken and attempted to have sex with her. When she refused, Dixon allegedly strangled the teen to death.

Sherita’s mother Wilma, later found her daughter’s lifeless body beneath the bridge.

Dixon wasn’t arrested for the crime until January of 2009. Police say that a stain on Williams’ clothing matched Dixon’s DNA profile, which was on file because of another criminal conviction.

Dixon pleaded guilty to aggravated manslaughter and attempted aggravated sexual assault last March.

He is set to appear in court at 1:30 p.m.
