Jury Sees Best, Worst of Starved Teen's Life

The father of Danieal Kelly, the disabled girl who was found starved to death with maggot-filled bed sores, is on trial

Philadelphia jurors hearing a case involving the starvation death of a disabled teen are seeing photos of the best and worst periods of her life.

A Phoenix teacher recalls Danieal Kelly as an endearing child who liked school trips and Shania Twain songs. But teacher Lynn Levin says the girl was frequently absent and in need of glasses, despite frequent attempts to talk to her father about the problems.

Daniel Kelly is charged with child endangerment for allegedly abandoning his daughter at her unfit mother's chaotic home. The mother, Andrea Kelly, pleaded guilty to third-degree murder following Danieal's 2006 neglect death.

A city social worker says the debris-filled home was one of the worst he'd ever seen.

Two aid workers are also on trial for allegedly failing the girl.
