Jury Deliberates SUV in Ravine Murder

Jurors are still considering the case of one of two men charged in the murder of a man whose body was found in a northeastern Pennsylvania ravine last summer.

The (Scranton) Times-Tribune reports that the Lackawanna County panel deliberated for more than 7-hours Thursday in the case against 23-year-old Jason Dominick.

Dominick and 23-year-old Neil Pal are charged in the death of 24-year-old Frank Bonacci, whose body was found in in his SUV on a ledge above Roaring Brook in July.

Dominick says Pal shot the victim and he feared he would be next. Prosecutors say Dominick shot Bonacci because the victim was dating his ex-girlfriend, and the two defendants then launched the SUV down a 72-foot ravine with the body inside.

The case made headlines again last month when attorneys for Dominick tried to bar prosecutors from using an inmate's testimony, which would recall a jailhouse confession by Pal.

Pal's trial is scheduled next month.
