Hit-and-Run Driver Destroys Delaware Business Owner's Vehicles

Police are searching for a driver who crashed into a Delaware business owner’s fleet of vehicles, causing more than $100,000 in damage, before fleeing the scene.

Witnesses say a man was driving a pickup truck about 70 miles per hour Sunday around 2:30 a.m. in Newark, Delaware when he lost control and slammed into four vehicles parked outside Honesty Services Plumbing on Ilse Drive.

“A loud bang, sounded like an explosion almost,” said Dan Holman, owner of Honesty Services as well as the vehicles. “[I saw] a disaster in my driveway. As you can see he pushed the vehicles probably eight to ten feet.”

The pickup truck completely destroyed two of Holman’s vehicles and severely damaged a third as well as a rental car. Witnesses say the pickup truck then fled the scene. They also believe the driver was drunk.

The hit-and-run vehicle was likely a dark Ford F-250 with orange running lights and serious front end damage, according to witnesses. Holman is offering a $1,000 reward to anyone with information on the driver’s identity and location.
