“We must keep in mind when it comes to the safety of children, there can be no margin for error, no hesitation to act,” Corbett said.

He said he is disappointed by how Paterno and Spanier handled the situation.

“Their actions caused me not to have confidence in their ability to lead," the Governor said.

The investigation that resulted in the charges of Jerry Sandusky, started while Corbett was Attorney General in 2009.

He said because of that, he is very limited on what he can say, in terms of the investigation.

But Governor Corbett was very vocal when asked about students protests. He called violent rioters "knuckleheads,"  as he reminded all students that the eyes of the nation are on them.

“Your actions speak louder than your words. I believe in your right to assemble and express your opinions.  I do not believe in your right to violence, there is no such thing,” said the Governor.

Governor Corbett says right now the focus should be on the victims of this sex abuse scandal.  He's asking any other victims to come forward.
