Former Flyers Stars, Brian Propp Fight to Put Hunger in the Penalty Box

Former Philadelphia Flyers All-Star Brian Propp is teaming up with the NHS Human Service Foundation to celebrate the 11th annual Goals for Giving Hockey Benefit Sunday.

The charity event, which has raised more than $300,000 in the past 10 years, is gearing up to put a halt on hunger in the nation by donating proceeds to Pantries of Pride, a program supported by the foundation.

Propp, an NHS board member and Philadelphia Flyers Alumni leader, is participating in the event, along with other alumni team members, as they take on employee-led team NHS Human Services Blues in a hockey challenge.

Admission for the hockey game benefit is $10 per person. The game runs from 1:30 to 3:30 p.m at the Flyers Skate Zone in Northeast Philadelphia.

Fans can meet their favorite Flyers alumni after the game at Chickieโ€™s & Peteโ€™s Crab House and Sports Bar at 11000 Roosevelt Boulevard. Tickets for the after-party are $20 per person and can be purchased online or at the door.

Benefit organizers expect to raise more than $100,000 at this yearโ€™s event.
