Fire Destroys 2-Story New Jersey Building

A four-alarm fire in Elizabeth has destroyed a two-story building that housed a business and apartments.

WABC-TV reports the blaze started at around 9 p.m. Saturday on Elizabeth Avenue, a main thoroughfare.

One eyewitness reported hearing an explosion before the fire broke out. The fire spread to neighboring buildings.

The news station reports that people who live in the apartments on the second floor of the building were able to get out safely. No injuries were reported.
