Authorities in eastern Pennsylvania have released the name of a man killed in a fire that sent three firefighters to hospitals.
Chief Deputy Coroner Kelly Gillis said 61-year-old James (Jim) Cenchitz died in the 9:30 p.m. Monday fire in a home along Mark Twain Circle in Northampton County's Hanover Township.
Gillis told The (Easton) Express-Times that the cause of death was listed as smoke inhalation.
Kristopher Mattson, the township's emergency management coordinator, said crews found the man inside but were unable to get him out of the house.
Three firefighters were injured and two of them were taken to Lehigh Valley Hospital's burn unit, but Mattson said all had been discharged as of Tuesday.
Colonial Regional police and a state police fire marshal are still trying to find out what started the blaze.
Cenchitz worked for decades at a barborshop in nearby Hillcrest Plaza. The shop's co-owner Dominick Vangeli told the Express-Times that Cenchitz "was a very loyal worker and a very caring person."
