Fresh off the debut of two new restaurants earlier this year, Michael Solomonov and Steven Cook, the men behind Zahav, are still toying with the idea of expanding their Federal Donuts concept outside of Philadelphia.
"We have four stores here, so we feel like we have the city pretty well covered. We also feel like Philly is our hometown, and our concept's been well supported by Philadelphia," Cook said. "We want to figure out whether the concept works without the hometown advantage. We're anxious to do that and see that next step in evaluation what the potential may be."
Cook wouldn't disclose which locations he and Solomonov are looking into, but he said they would be "cities that are drivable [to] Philadelphia," so you can probably take a stab at which locations are viable like Washington, D.C., Baltimore, New Jersey and New York.
