Philadelphia Police say gunpoint robberies at two Northeast Philadelphia 7-Eleven stores overnight in which the robbers pistol-whipped employees were the work of the same bandits.
In the first, police say one robber pistol-whipped an employee at the 7-Eleven on Frankford Avenue near Decatur Street, in Holmesburg, and stole cash and cigarettes from the store about 1:30 a.m.
Roughly a half-hour later, about 2 a.m., an armed robber walked into the 7-Eleven at Bridge and Thompson streets, in Bridesburg, and pistol-whipped an employee there. It's unclear what, if anything, was taken in that robbery.
By Sunday afternoon, police said they believe both stickups were the work of the same robbers. No arrests have been made.
