College Football Player Hurt in Box Truck, Bus Crash

A 22-year-old Delaware State University football player was seriously injured in a three-vehicle crash with a box truck and a tour bus in the early morning hours of yesterday.

Delaware State Police say a car driven by Jadira Green of Fort Washington, Md., was stopped with its lights out on Route 1 in Middletown, Del. around 4 a.m. Thursday when it was rear-ended by a box truck and then hit by a tour bus.

Police spokesman Sgt. Paul Shavack says Green was not wearing a seat belt. He was taken to Christiana Hospital in serious condition.

DSU Coach Kermit Blount says the team's thoughts are with the senior offensive lineman and his family.

Shavack says the other drivers were not injured and there were no passengers on the bus.
