Delaware Officials Host Conference Focuses on Child Abuse

State officials are hosting a two-day conference focusing on how Delaware professionals can work together to improve civil and criminal responses to child abuse and neglect, and preventive efforts to reduce child abuse.

Gov. Jack Markell was among the scheduled speakers at the conference, which begins Tuesday at the Dover Downs hotel and conference center. Other expected attendees include Attorney General Matt Denn, children's department secretary Jennifer Ranji, and Family Court Chief Judge Chandlee Johnson Kuhn.

Organizers expect some 500 professionals to attend the conference, which is geared toward law enforcement, prosecutors, judges, attorneys, case workers, therapists, educators and medical professionals.
