Deer Season Begins for Pennsylvania Hunters

Pennsylvania's Game Commission estimates about 750,000 hunters with rifles are expected to pursue white-tailed deer.

The rifle season opened just before sunrise on Monday and continues through Dec. 12.

Licensed hunters may kill antlered or antlerless deer at any time during the season in some parts of the state. In others, hunters may take only antlered deer during the season's first five days.

Hunters older than 16 years of age must have a $20.70 general hunting license or a $101.70 general license for nonresidents. Junior hunting license cost $6.70 for ages 12 to 18, or $41.70 for young nonresidents.
