Police found the fatally-wounded man lying next to his pickup truck

A street shooting in Philadelphia has left one man dead and two others hospitalized.

Police say the shooting occurred around 11 p.m. Tuesday near the intersection of Water and Ontario streets. They say two men fired numerous shots before running away.

Officers responding to reports of shots fired found a 46-year-old wounded man lying next to his pickup truck. He was taken to a hospital but was pronounced dead there a short time later.

Authorities believe that man was the shooters' intended target. But it's not clear if the two other victims were also targeted or if they were struck by stray bullets.

A 36-year-old man who was shot in his foot, while a 55-year-old man was shot twice in his arm. Both men were taken to a hospital and were listed in stable condition.
