Conshy Man Found Dead in Hot Tub with Woman

Police investigating the suspicious death

Police are investigating a suspicious death after a Conshohocken, Pa. man is found dead in a Scranton hotel hot tub with a 45-year-old woman.

Lackawanna County Coroner Tim Rowlands says the man was found around 4 a.m. Wednesday at the Clarion Hotel when a guest stepped out for a cigarette. Once outside, the guest saw the two passed out in the hotel’s communal hot tub.

The woman was faceup. The man was facedown.

Emergency officials came and they transported the man to Community Medical Center. He was pronounced dead around 4:20 a.m.

The woman, who was also brought to the hospital, was alive as of 8 a.m.

Scranton Police Chief Dan Duffy said investigators believe the victim drowned, but won’t be sure if it was accidental until after Rowlands’s autopsy results.

Rowlands said the man is 41 years old, but released no further information pending notification of the man's family.

An autopsy is planned for Wednesday.
