Teen, 19, Pleads Guilty to Videotaped Beating

3rd defendant pleads in beating of Chester woman with mental disabilities

A third defendant pleaded guilty today in the videotaped beating by a group of teenage girls of a Delaware County woman with mental disabilities who was sitting on her steps.

Takia Edwards, 19, nine to 23 months in prison. After that she will need to serve two years of probation, attend anger management counseling and must stay away from the victim.

Edwards was the only adult defendant. She apologized in court, reported the Delaware County Daily Times. Defense attorney Steven Leach says she's embarrassed and remorseful.

Investigators allege the six teens punched and kicked the 48-year-old Chester woman and hit her with a shoe and a chair in September, apparently for fun. One recorded the beating, which was posted online.

Attorneys for the three remaining defendants are seeking to move their cases to juvenile court.
