Shooting During Southwest Philadelphia Carjacking Leaves Man in Critical Condition

A man is in critical condition at a Philadelphia hospital after police say a gunman shot him during a carjacking.

Police said the shooting happened near 60th Street and Woodland Avenue in Southwest Philadelphia. The man suffered several gunshot wounds to his lower body, and police found several spent shell casings at the scene.

The victim was taken to a nearby hospital for treatment and remained there in critical condition later Monday. The gunman escaped.

Police said the stolen car was found about four blocks from the scene of the shooting. It was unoccupied.
