Bucks County Man Dies Clearing Snow from Car

Police say an elderly man collapsed and died while clearing snow from his car in Bucks County.

83-year-old John Diamond was found face down in the snow of Friday, Upper Southampton police Chief Ron MacPherson told The Intelligencer of Doylestown.

MacPherson said efforts to revive the man were unsuccessful and he was pronounced dead.

The Philadelphia region received between five and nine inches of snow from the first winter storm of the year.

Diamond's death is the second related to the winter storm. On Thursday, a worker was killed at a Bucks County salt facility when a 100-foot tall rock salt pile toppled over and crushed him. The salt was being used by road crews preparing for the storm.
