Authorities Identify Man Killed in Fiery Crash

Authorities in North Jersey have identified one of the victims of a fiery crash that killed two people on Route 21 north of Newark.

The Essex County prosecutor's office and Belleville police say 26-year-old Jonathan Fontenot of Newark was killed in the crash Monday night that involved a tractor trailer and two cars.

Authorities say the tractor trailer collided with a 2013 Dodge Dart and a 2004 Chevy Cavalier on Route 21 southbound at about 7:30 p.m. Monday.

Fontenot and another person in the Cavalier were killed. The second victim hasn't been publicly identified.

A 27-year-old Bloomfield man driving the Dart and the 48-year-old truck driver were uninjured.

No charges have been filed in the crash.
