Police are investigating an alleged attempted luring in Galloway Township.
It happened Tuesday around 3:45 p.m. in the Smithville section. Police say a 10-year-old girl was walking home from school when she was approached by a black 4-door vehicle with tinted windows. The driver allegedly pulled up next to the girl, opened the passenger door and told the girl he knew her mother and wanted her to get inside the vehicle. Police say the girl then ran away and returned home safely.
The vehicle left the area toward Moss Mill Road, according to investigators. Police do not have a physical description of the man but say he was wearing a hooded sweatshirt covering his face.
