A man has been ordered to stand trial in the death of a woman whose body was found stuffed into a recycling bin last month.
Sixty-two-year-old Walter Bratvold is charged in Lehigh County with homicide and abuse of a corpse in the death of 59-year-old Rose Sieniawski, whose decomposing body was found Feb. 14 in a recycling bin at an Allentown apartment complex. Authorities said she died of multiple gunshot wounds.
Bratvold was charged earlier with attempted homicide and aggravated assault in a Feb. 16 exchange of gunfire with Allentown officers. A detective and Bratvold were wounded.
Bratvold was silent during Tuesday's hearing until a prosecutor said Bratvold intended to kill police when he pointed a gun at them. Bratvold then sobbed "No" before his attorney handed him paper tissue.
