Heavy Rain Causes PHL Airport Delays

Heavy rains and gusting winds have caused delays at the Philadelphia International Airport. The New York City area airports have also been impacted. 

Philadelphia airport spokesperson Victoria Lupica says there's no longer a two-hour arriving flight delay, as of 10:15 p.m. Travelers should check www.phl.org or call 1-900-PHL-GATE for current flight information.

The Federal Aviation Administration says Sunday Newark International Airport is experiencing delays of 1 hour and 40 minutes. It says winds at Kennedy International Airport have delayed flights by 1 hour and 47 minutes. Flights at Philadelphia International Airport are experiencing 1 hour and 55 minute delays.

For specific flight information, the FAA says travelers should check with their airlines.

The National Weather Service says about 1 to 1 inches of rain fell in New York Sunday. It says that at 4 p.m., winds reached 33 mph at JFK. They've reached between 20 and 30 mph throughout the day.

The National Weather Service says conditions should improve Sunday night.
