A GPS is a perfect holiday gift for tech lovers and those who can’t ever seem to find their way. But, thieves love them too, and a locked car is no match for a criminal.
30 vehicles over the past month have been broken-into in Vineland, N.J. and Global Positioning Systems were the items of choice, police said.
The thieves “smash and grab” breaking car windows to get their greedy hands on their target. The damage to the vehicles total more than $12,000, police reported.
"Citizens are reminded not to leave valuables in plain sight when parking their vehicles. Any type of electronics or other personal items such as wallets or handbags should be removed from the vehicle or stored out of plain sight," said Detective Lt. Thomas Ulrich.
They were charged Wednesday with burglary, theft, conspiracy, receiving stolen property and possession of burglary tools.
Both men were released from Cumberland County Jail on $50,000 bail.
