Darby Borough officials are enforcing a curfew after declaring a state of emergency in their town.
The action was prompted by five shootings in a 72-hour period. None of the shootings were fatal. And police would like to keep it that way.
βUnder this state of emergency, any person observed outdoors or in a public place within the limits of the borough of Darby between the hours of 8 pm and 6 am shall be subject to an immediate stop and friskβ said Mayor Helen Thomas at a news conference Friday night.
Thomas said the curfew applies to adults and juveniles.
Police will be on the lookout for groups of three or more people.
The curfew will be in effect for at least 10 days.
