Police Identify 17-Year-Old Boy Shot Dead Outside Feltonville Lounge

The 17-year-old boy who died of a gunshot wound to his chest suffered when police say another teen pulled a gun during a fight in Feltonville early Sunday morning has been identified as Angel Castellanos.

Castellanos, who lived on Eleanor Street near A, about three blocks from where he was shot, was with a group of friends outside the Emergency Cafe Lounge, on Wyoming Avenue near Boudinot Street, about 3:30 a.m. Sunday when the group became involved in a dispute with other teenagers, according to police.

The fight escalated and someone pulled a gun and opened fire, wounding Castellanos in the chest. Castellanos was taken to St. Christopher's Hospital for Children in a private vehicle.

Doctors pronounced him dead at 4:20 a.m.

Police said they do not know what sparked the fight that led to the gunfire, and don't have a suspect in the deadly shooting. An investigation is ongoing.
